If someone had told me ten years ago, that I’d get paid to talk about astrology for a Business Transformation team at a big corporation, I would have never believed. First, because I never thought I’d become an astrologer in my thirties, and second because I also know how astrology can be misunderstood by those who have no interest in the topic.
The fact is that astrology is a self-development tool, and it can be used to understand one’s personality, by using their birth information (date, time and place). And how is that possible? Data analysis. What happens when we gather information and start looking for patterns? We find them. With astrology it’s no different, the only thing that may shock the unannounced is the data astrologers analyze: the position of the planets and their symbolic correlation with life’s events – either on a personal or a collective level, on a specific date, time and place.
It still surprises me how thousands of years ago; astrologers would look at the skies to make sense of life. How did someone have this idea? I can only imagine how happy they must have gotten when they realized that celestial events influenced life on Earth. If it all didn’t make any sense, how could astrology have survived throughout thousands of years?
Ok, Sofia, but how does it work?
First, you need to understand what a birth chart (or natal chart) is: a picture of the sky at the exact time and place a person is born, or an event starts. That image symbolizes the start of everything. Through that chart it is possible to verse about someone’s essence, emotional patterns, the way they learn, think, communicate, love, their family, their relationship with finances, their routine, even possible chronic or acute diseases, childhood, adulthood, challenges, spirituality, future, and the list goes on.
And why is it any good to know all these things?
Indeed, you don’t need astrology to live. But to reflect on our paths is something we weren’t taught to do. From an early age we have received a script to follow: get into school, have good grades, go to university, have a relationship, get a job, get married, start a family, continue working to pay the bills, take a break from work to travel, go back home and repeat.
If you’re living a life, you’re proud of, please just keep doing it. But if you’re not, it is possible that you are not being 100% true to yourself. And how can you be true to yourself if you don’t even know who you are? What do you truly like? How do you naturally function?
That’s how astrology can help you. It has helped me understand my modus operandi. It has helped me see my patterns, my behaviors, the way I think, and communicate, my values, my challenges, my potential, and my essence.
For a long time, I wanted to fit in, to become successful in the eyes of society. And that unconscious decision got me out of track and far from who I truly am. And I do believe that the answers to our questions are all within, but the skies help us organize them, interpret them, remove the conditioning we get from our families, society, or any other external source.
But yes, let’s go back to December 12th, 2022. This was the day I led my first Astrology Workshop for a Business Transformation team at a multinational company. Do I think Astrology can transform the world? No. Astrology is a tool that people can use to transform themselves and, through their self-fulfillment, transform the world around them. I do believe in a power that lives within. And we are the ones to awaken them.
